And here we are… the two no one anticipated would cross the finish at the start of this tournament both raised a trophy and we will see what they do with that information. Chwalinska didn’t have anything left in the tank to compete with #8 Andreeva and that showed… Her game style is to make her opponent uncomfortable and she couldn’t manage the time on court to continue to get one more ball back… it started a little nervy from Andreeva, but she reigned it in in 1 hour and 22 minutes to lift the trophy and claim her first major at the age of 19… No Monica Seles who was 16, but a result and win none the less…

On the men’s side… the wife beater takes the win over #10 Cobolli of Italy… The first german to win since 1937… sigh… I was hopeful after the tiebreaker in the fourth that momentum would swing in favor of the Italian, but it wasn’t to be… oh well, he gets a trophy… now, hopefully he will fade into the background… we all have dreams… 4 hours and 16 minutes on the clock… 6-1, 4-6, 6-4, 6-7(5), 6-1…

No changes for you… obviously… we had no player in the game… everyone with Sinner to win and every other reasonable choice on the women’s side just went awry… Len takes the men’s draw and Kresimir the women… and that is how the ball bounces…

This is your reminder… I will be at the The All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club this year, so the draw will be out – but I will not be counting anything until AFTER the fourth of July as that is when I return… AO 2024; RG 2025; Wimbledon 2026; US Open 2027… so, this is your official notification… I hope you all have a beautiful beginning to your summer and I am looking forward to the grass… in all sorts of deviant ways…
